Thinking exercises / National anthems

This platform functions as a micro-scale laboratory about how Colombian People can define and develop an imaginary of  "country" through a national symbol. It is a space where everyone can participate and go through three states: spectator, actor, and co-author. This while the artist becomes the only one responsible for the documentation of it. The event becomes even more interesting when satires, reviews, complaints, praises, and aspirations are brought together and the evolution of the wall begins to be both: a witness and an example of how we articulate and react to a national reality in an effervescent evolution. 

 

The challenge in this work was to combine in a balanced way my intention as an artist (the function), aesthetic,  and ethics and of course make room for the poetics of others.
